Ministry of Culture makes formal reply concerning blacklists (Photo)

The Ministry of Culture of Belarus replied to the request of a musician from Addis Abeba band regarding a ban on playing concerts for some rock groups.

Timur Reizis writes on his blog:

“I've received replies from the Ministry of Culture and the Minsk city executive committee to my requests. Run-around replies, as it was expected. The Minsk city executive committee made my day. They wrote 'we did not have any notifications'. In this case, who issued permissions? They expose themselves. Clever people are running from government institutions. The rest find it a problem to invent a convincing reply.

I repeat again: Do not keep silence if you are concerned about the blacklists. Voice your position. Telepathy has not been invented yet. Nobody cares you are struggling with the injustice in your head,” the musician wrote.

The Ministry of Culture says it does not have information about official documents that forbid certain groups and singers to have concerts in Belarus.
