Azubalis called Felix Dzerzhinsky in Belarus

His latest remarks were called “absurd”

Recent statements by the Lithuanian foreign minister on a necessity to create a “transitional council” in Belarus can regarded as reaching the record high degree of absurdity. This statement was made by Andrei Savinykh, the Belarusian MFA spokesman and information department chief, commenting  for BelTA on the remark by Lithuanian foreign minister Audronius Azubalis.

“There's an impression Azubalis begins to think like Felix  Dzerzhinsky. Maybe it happened due to his exhaustion, as he himself admitted, but the degree of absurdity of the statement made by the foreign minister allows to mention it the Guinness World Records,” Andrei Savinykh said.

Azubalis said recently in an interview he was “tired of all the plans for supporting the opposition in Belarus”. “I see only one, quite drastic way. Together with our American friends, we should start thinking about a transitional council. We should create an alternative power center. This kind of parallel structure could have an echo in the country. It is an idea. But so far, I have received no reactions from Brussels,” Internet resource quote Azubalis.
