Russian State Duma to cooperate with Belarusian illegitimate “parliament”

The chairman of the “house of representatives” of Belarus, Uladzimir Andreichanka, and the chairman of the State Duma of Russia, Sergei Naryshkin, have signed a cooperation agreement today.
Under the document, “the parties shall assist the development of the inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries”. The agreement was signed to promote further integration in the “union state”, the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space. The parliaments will also assist the development of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Besides, the agreement declares readiness to exchange parliamentary delegations on different levels, information on the current legislative activity, etc.
The parties intend to “facilitate the development of the parliamentary cooperation in the future Eurasian Economic Union”. The document proposes to create the Coordination Council of the “house of representatives” and the State Duma.
It should be reminded that none elections in Belarus have been recognized free and fair since Lukashenka coming to power in 1994. The last legitimate Belarusian parliament – the Supreme Council of the 13th convocation – was dissolved by the dictator in 1996. The country has only the so called puppet parliament with in fact appointed MPs.
