Poczobut can be convicted in discretization of the Republic of Belarus

On July 11 Andrzej Poczobut had been called to the Grodno Regional Administration of the Investigation Committee.

The journalist has been informed that an investigation team which is dealing with his crimes has been formed. There was only one investigator before that.

There was the second expertize of the film about Andrzej Poczobut «Skazany na polskość», which had been shown by “Belsat” and the third program of the Polish television. The journalist was informed that one of the experts already gave his conclusion: there are no components of crime.  

Meanwhile, another expert insists that it is not so, and one can speak, in particular, about discretization of the Republic of Belarus in this movie. This was told to radio “Svaboda” by Andrzej Poczobut himself.

On June 30 Andrzej Poczobut has been released from the Investigation isolator of the Grodno prison #1.

He was arrested on June 21 and has the status of the accused in accordance with the criminal article 367, part 2 – “slander against the President contained in a public speech, either in a print or publicly demonstrated product, either in the media, by a person who was previously convicted for slander and insult" for the articles, including those on the website charter97.org.

According to the Criminal Code, the journalist can be punished with restriction of freedom or imprisonment up to 5 years.
