Anton Surapin and Siarhey Basharimau were released under house arrest

Young people remain the defendants in the case of "Teddy troopers".

Anton Surapin himself called the press-service of the NGO "Belarusian Association of Journalists" at 20.30 from Slutsk, reports the website of the organization. He is under house arrest and a confidentiality agreement.

A statement, posted on the KGB website, informs about the release of Siarhei Basharimau.

Anton was released about 2 hours ago and brought home to Slutsk. He is not allowed to travel outside the city - "except on the lake or to the country".

He doesn't have restrictions on the use of the Internet and will try to get in touch through the old computer of his parents.

In September, he ends his vacation and starts his journalist practice. In September, he plans to return to Minsk - if he will be allowed.

In prison he received letters only from his relatives.

"The fact that I was released on the anniversary of my site (which is August 17 - exactly one year since the first post appeared on the site bnp.by) - is the best gift for me", - says Anton.

"Siarhey Basharimau and Anton Surapin remain in the status of accused, because the necessary investigations, including the holding of a confrontment, were not carried out due to the refusal of the Swedish subjects to appear at the Investigation Department - is underlined in the report. - Final proceedings in respect of citizens of Belarus, accused in this criminal case, will be taken only after the full understanding of the circumstances of the investigated crime".

Recall, on July 6, 2012, was detained and taken into custody in the KGB detention center Siarhei Basharimau, and on July 13, 2012 - photographer Anton Surapin. On July 16 and 23, respectively, they were charged under the Part 3. Article 371 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus "Illegal crossing of the state border of the Republic of Belarus". That is how KGB regarded the placement of images by Anton Surapin of intended flight of the Swedish aircraft in Belarusian airspace. Even more absurd look accusations of Basharimau Siarhei, who rented an apartment to Swedish citizens, in order to promote the crossing of the state border of the Republic of Belarus.
