Emanuelis Zingeris: Lithuania once got fingers burnt (Video)

It's possible that Lithuania will not show Belarus the results of the investigation into the teddy bear attack.

Emanualis Zingeris, the chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs at the Lithuanian Seimas, expressed this opinion in an interview for Belsat TV.

He confirmed Lithuania was carrying out an investigation over violating of the Belarusian-LIthuanian border by Swedish nationals. The politician noted in his view human rights abuses by the Belarusian authorities cannot be compared with a performance, when Swedish human rights activists dropped teddy ears over Belarus.

Speaking about the investigation, Emanualis Zingeris recalled that Lithuania once burnt its fingers by disclosing information about Ales Byalyatski's bank account to official Minsk. The information was used by the regime to prosecute political opponents. Belarus's northern neighbour will think twice this time before sharing results of the investigation. It is quite possible that the information may be used for political purposes.
