In 2013 one official newspaper will be made out of five.
This was announced today at a meeting with the staff of Pruzhany newspaper "Raennie budni" by Information Minister Aleg Praleskousky.
This holding will include "Sovetskaya Belorussia", "Narodnaya Gazeta", "Respublika", "Belarusskaya Niva", and "Znamia Junnosti". As for the name of socio-political publishing house and the newspaper, which will represent him, the minister said that it will not be "Sovetskaya Belorussia". Right now the name is under development, informs BelTA.
As for newspaper journalists, who will enter the holding company, the Minister noted that the reorganization would not include a reduction of creative personnel. In fact, this will be one big main newspaper of the country.
"We've got a lot of major newspapers. At the same time, Belarus is a small country, and we do not have a lot of news and events, so the national newspapers usually, write about the same. When you create a single publishing house will be able to maneuver editorial policy. Best of all, the country will have a single publishing organ - a serious, big, and authoritative", – is sure Praleskousky.
