Import of light motor vehicles reduced by six times

On January-July this year the import of light motor vehicles amounted up to 43.7 thousand pieces.

It decreased by 5.9 times compared to the same period of 2011, as the National Statistic Committee informs. In monetary terms the import of light motor vehicles for seven months amounted to $490.1 million. The average price was about $11.2 thousand, and it has increased by 32% compared to January-July last year.

According to the National Statistic Committee’s data, in total 5.4 thousand of light motor vehicles were imported to Belarus from the CIS, which is 2.9 times more than on January-July last year. 38.3 thousand of the vehicles were imported from far abroad, which 6.7 times less than in the same period of 2011.

The export from Belarus amounted to 35.4 thousand of light motor vehicles, including 33.8 thousand to Russia. In monetary terms it amounted to $455.2 million.
