Minsk got compared to Ashkhabad

Russian journalists were astonished by Belarusian ruler’s new residence.

Several media of the neighboring country wrote about it, the reporters of which attended yesterday’s summits in Minsk.

“The new Independence Palace in Minsk (the residence of the president of Belarus) looks like similar palaces in Astana and Ashkhabad. It resembles those in sizes, shapes, decoration and especially ambitions. The president of Belarus suddenly got swung towards the East (on the other hand, why would he swing towards the West)”, - Kommersant reports.

Russia 24 TV channel’s journalists reminded of the all-out construction of the residence, which was rushed into getting finished by the event, attended with the CIS high-ranked guests.

“The residence was built on stepped-up tempo, and together with Belarusians workers from friendly North Korea too worked at the construction site. Apparently that is why an Asia accent can be caught in the architecture. The microphones were checked and adjusted until the last minute, but the equipment still failed”, - the TV channel’s correspondent reports.

We would remind that earlier Lukashenka requested to put it in order by 25 October, when the heads of the CIS countries would gather in Minsk. According to Lukashenka, the quests should be provided with most comfortable conditions for work. The workers told journalists that the building would have to be finished after the summit.
