Pavel Seviarynets: It's Lukashenka's nature to insult and offend people

The dictator's caddish nature reveals itself even when he wants to look like an honest and decent politician.

Political prisoner Pavel Seviarynets spoke to charter97.org about the Belarusian dictator's racist remarks about Barack Obama.

“It's difficult to comment on the style of Lukashenka's remarks and behaviour. He goes beyond the bounds of politeness even when he tries to look like a serious, decent and respectable politician. Lukashenka cannot do it. The core of his domestic policy is based on brutality, impudence and fear. He hasn't changed much since he was a collective farmer director. He seems to have an infinite ability to insult and offend people. Nothing can surprise me here. I think all Belarusians don't find it surprising either. It can be a shock for some parts of the world that the head of state can behave like that,” the politician thinks.

He stressed that Lukashenka allows himself to behave in this way because he is the illegitimate head of state who declared himself president after the rigged election.

“We cannot speak about morality and political correctness when we speak about Lukashenka's personality. These are two parallel worlds that never meet. Lukashenka cannot look like an honest and decent politician even if he wants it. His caddish nature always reveals itself.

He said that the whole country had spent several months repairing its image after the antisemitic comments of the Belarusian ruler. This is the same situation, Seviarynets notes.

“Perhaps it is a political sign to Vladimir Putin: Don't think that Nursultan Nazarbayev and I conspire against you. Though I think such signals mean they do,” Pavel Seviarynets said.

The Belarusian dictator made racist comments about the US president. “Obama surprises me. Not so long ago black people were slaves in America, and now they claim some exclusivity. I never thought that a person, who originated from these poor groups, would be able to use such rhetoric in the world. This is inadmissible and extremely dangerous. By the way, it seems like our and your, and Russian democrats do not notice that,” he said.
