A deputy director of Belneftekhim company has been detained in his office for bribery.

The Belarusian Investigation Committee initiated a criminal case against the deputy head of Belneftekhim company, Interfax-West learnt on Tuesday from the Investigation Committee's press service.

”The main department for organised crime and corruption of the Belarusian Interior Ministry detained the suspect after he had received a part of a bribe from a legal entity representative for solving an issue on processing oil by-products at the refinery,” the Investigation Committee says.

”The official was detained in his office. He illegally received $19,000 since February till October. Investigators are working with the detained person,” the Investigation Committee informs.

The Committee doesn't disclose the name of the arrested official. According to the website of Belneftekhim, company director Ihar Zhylin has first deputy Ihar Liashenka and three deputy directors Uladzimir Voukau, Valiantsina Krasnykh and Pavel Yakubovich.

Belneftekhim is among the country's largest industrial enterprises.
