Lukashenka: Belarus is interested in Chinese direct investments

Belarus is interested in Chinese direct investments.

Lukashenka said it as he met with Meng Jianzhu, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the secretary of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, a member of the State Council of China, in Minsk on 1 November.

The Belarusian head of state noted that Belarus and China have been steadily developing their trade and economic relations as well as bilateral ties in the financial area. The Belarusian leader thanked the Chinese side for financial support of many projects in Belarus.

“Of course we would like to see more Chinese direct investment in the Belarusian economy,” the head of state said.

In his words, Belarus and China have determined “many cooperation areas, including the construction of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park in Belarus. The park will make home to high-technology companies.”

“Please, tell my good friend Xi Jinping that we will stay committed to our bilateral relations,” he said addressing the Chinese guest.
