Lukashenka threatens to tear government's head off

“I'll tear your head off, take it under the arm and you can go if you can,” the dictator said.

The ruler is angry about the government's work on implementation of the programme on construction of trade and logistics centres in the country.

“The programme was adopted. The punishment will be same as in the wood processing industry. I'll tear your head off, take it under the arm and you will go if you can. I won't forgive you. It's huge money,” Lukashenka said during his visit to the transport and logistics centre Minsk-Beltamozhservice-2 on Friday, Interfax news agency reports.

Speaking about the implementation of the programme on construction of logistics cenres he said that “huge money are passing by us”. “What else projects with a payback period of 6 years do you know?” Lukashenka asked. “Why don't you do it? The programme hasn't been implemented in full,” he said.

Deputy PM Piotr Prakapovich reported that Belarus would have 28 transport and logistics centres by 2015. He noted that the delay could be explained with the lack of investors' interests to those projects. The dictator replied: “The programme must be corrected and updated if necessary by the end of the year. Attract investors. If there are no investors, we'll do everything ourselves, for small money.”

He explained the necessity of fast construction of transport and logistics centres with the fact that “being a member of the Customs Union, we are interested in working with the goods that will go to Russia and Kazakhstan”. Lukashenka turned attention to the fact that trade and logistics centres were being actively built in Russia on the border with Belarus. “They want to take our income by market approach,” he noted.

“We can take much from this huge flow of goods to Russia, Ukraine and other countries. But it looks like we don't want to have this money today,” the ruler said.

“No one will be forgiven” for failure to fulfil the programme, Lukashenka said.
