Young Christian Democrats denied registration

The Ministry of Justice of Belarus denied registration to the public association Young Christian Democrats.

BelaPAN news agency has learnt it from Dzyanis Sadouski, the executive secretary of the organising committee to create Belarusian Christian Democracy party.

The Ministry of Justice suspended the process of registration demanding to submit additional documents, in particular those relating to registration of the congress participants and a lease agreement to hold the congress. The organising committee found the demands illegal and refused to submit documents to the ministry.

The founding congress of the Young Christian Democrats was held in Minsk on November 3. It gathered 60 delegates from all regions of Belarus. The MCD is a republican youth public association that unites citizens on a voluntary basis to exercise civil, social, cultural and other rights. The MCD is  a secular non-religious association carrying out activities in all country regions.
