MTW’s Palace of Culture refused to provide premises for Freedom Day celebration

The Palace of Culture of Minsk Tractor Works refused to led a hall for the ceremonial gathering.

A coordinator of the European Belarus civic campaign Viktar Ivashkevich told that to the charter97.org web-site.

As the politician told, the final information will be out on 12 March, when a response will be received for Minsk city executive committee for the application of holding the event. “It is not ruled out that in case of its permission the administration of the MTW’s Palace of Culture will change its mind”, - Viktar Ivashkevich noted.

During the ceremonial gather on the occasion of Belarusian People’s republic a dictation is planned to be held. The text for the dictation is Kastus Kalinouski’s “A letter from under a gibbet”, which will be read by the leaders of political parties and organizations.

We would remind that an application for a street manifestation for the Freedom Day has been submitted to Minsk city executive committee on 20 February.

It is expected that the gathering of the participants will start on 24 March at 12.00 at the entrance to the Central Botanic Garden. From there the people will move in the direction of the Peoples’ Friendship park, where a meeting will be held, which is expected to end at 15.00.
