An assistant director of Minsk's Goodwin club declined to comment on a ban for journalists to film a concert of N.R.M. band on May 23.
The incident took place after journalists of Belsat independent TV channel were denied accreditation for the event. According to Pavel Kashyryn, who organises the concert, the reason for denial of accreditation to journalists was a “decision of the owner of the private club Goodwin, who banned all kinds of video recording of the gig, BelaPAN news agency reports.
Belsat's journalists say to the press service of the Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ): “Even state-owned organisations granted accreditations to us to film events for our cultural review. But 'our' people kicked us out explaining the denial of accreditation by a danger of losing the only venue where such concerts are allowed. What a shame! We will face such situations until musicians and concert managers stop making blacklists of journalists.”
It is not the first case: Belsat's journalists were denied accreditation for a concert of Neuro Dubel's frontman Aliaksandr Kulinkovich in Goodwin club. Pavel Kashyryn didn't allowed the film crew to attend the event because it was a private party. Kulinkovich recently became a columnist in Savetskaya Belorussia newspaper.
