Lukashenka unexpectedly flew to Russia


Lukashenka meets with Russian patriarch in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka on June 24 met with Russian Orthodox Patriarch Kirill (Cyril I) at the patriarch’s residence near the village of Divnomorskoye on Russia’s Black Sea coast in the province of Krasnodar Krai.

According to the press office of the Belarusian leader, Mr. Lukashenka and the patriarch discussed preparations for celebrations to be held in Minsk in late July on the occasion of the 1025th anniversary of the Christianization of Russia (Kievan Rus).

Belarus’ government news sources have not reported when Mr. Lukashenka left for Russia and how long he will stay there.
