Yaromenak to stand new trial on August 19

Young Front member Uladzimir Yaromenak will be tried on August 19.

The Young Front press service has learnt it from the former political prisoner.

“I had a phone call yesterday from the Pershamaiski district court. I was asked to visit the court registry to take the order on scheduling a court hearing. I was also handed in a court summons and warned that the measure of restraint would be changed in case of failure to appear,” the activist said.

The trial will be held at 14:30 on August 19 at the address 9 Tolbukhin Street.

It became known in July that a new criminal case was initiated against former political prisoner Uladzimir Yaromenak for alleged violating the rules of preventive supervision.

Young Front activist Uladzimir Yaromenak was arrested in January 2011 as a suspect in the case of “mass disorders”. He was given a 3-year sentence and sent to a correctional colony near Vitebsk. He was pardoned in August 2011. Since the release, he has been thrown behind bars several times for administrative offences.

On March 15, 2013, Minsk's Pershamaiski district court extended for 6 months the preventive supervision imposed over the activist a year ago.
