Belarus restricts potato imports from Ukraine

The restrictions have been imposed in the wake of Russia.

Since July 10 Belarus imposes restrictions on potato imports from Ukraine.

“Interfax” informs about that with a reference to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Products of Belarus.

The Ministry explains that potato shipped before July 10, 2014, could be delivered to the territory of Belarus only after considering the results of phytosanitary control.

This decision is adopted in connection with the appeal of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision of Russia and in line with the agreement of the Customs Union on plant quarantine, principles of the international convention on plant quarantine and plant protection.

Since June 16 the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision of Russia imposed temporary restrictions on potato imported from Ukraine to Russia after yellow potato cyst nematode was found there.
