Activists detained at Kamarouka put in prison

The participants of the United Civic Party’s rally are facing a trial.

Altogether about 10 people were detained, including the UCP chairman Anatol Labiedzka, the head of the Belarusian branch of the international Memorial society Uladzimir Ramanouski, first deputy chairman of the organizational committee for creation of the party BSDP (Narpdnaja Hramada) Aliaksandr Arastovich, a cameraman Ales Silich. They were taken to Minsk Soviet district’s police department, BelaPAN reports.

Some of the detained, including Volha Majorava, Ganna Kanapatskaja, Natalia Valakida were released in three hours, having composed protocols on administrative violations. Their trial will take place on 17 March. Also the journalist Ales Silich was released from the police station.

The rest, including Labiedzka, Ramanouski and Arastovich, were transferred in the isolation center in Akrescina Street, where they will stay until the trial. Their trials, according to the tentative data, will start on Monday morning.

We would remind that the participants of the rally, which had been authorized with the authorities as an electoral picket, were holding the pictures of 10 Belarusian political prisoners and Viktar Hanchar, Jury Zakharanka, Anatol Krasouski and Dzmitry Zavadski, who had disappeared without a trace.
