Four graffiti artists, who started painting Vasil Bykau’s portrait in a court yard in Victory Square neighborhood on a transformer vault, got arrested and put into a police van.
Radio Svaboda learnt about the incident from a witness.
According to him, two policemen came to the location about an hour ago. Later more police cars arrived. For some time the graffiti artists tried to set something straight with the police on site, then they got put in a police van.
A representative of the Signal community informed that three artists were taken to Partizan district’s police department. Currently they are expecting permission from city executive committee to continue the work. It is yet unclear, what happens to the young men, in case the city executive committee does not give permission.
At night the street artists from the Signal community made sketches of the future artwork dedicated to the 90-th anniversary of the classic of Belarusian literature and published first photos.
