Mass inspections to be held in markets

Since July 22 the trade inspection of the Ministry of Trade of Belarus is to start mass inspections of markets and shopping centres.

BelTA has been informed about that by the first Deputy Minister of Trade Artur Karpovich.

“During the checks the principled evaluation of work done by owners of the trade outlets is to be made,” Artur Karpovich said.

Since June 22 the law “On State regulation of trade and public catering in Belarus” comes in force. It is aimed at streamlining the relations in the sphere of trade and public catering.

“According to the law, owners of shopping centres and markets are to take measures to ensure that their vendors follow the law on defense of consumers’ rights and normative legal acts of Belarus,” Karpovich said.

In the first half of 2014 during control checks of trade outlets the trade inspection detected violations of the law at more than 350 economic entities.
