Rebels retreat to Russian border

Terrorists are trying to enter the territory of Russia in small groups.

The headquarters of the Anti-Terrorist Centre of the Security Service of Ukraine informs that rebels retreat from the territory of Luhansk region to Russian border.

Today morning part of rebels left Luhansk, and through the zone controlled by them retired in the direction of the border, UNN was told by a representative of the headquarters. As said by him, now amassment of terrorists with armoured vehicles and their attempts to reposition are observed in the region of Sukhodolsk and Molodogvardeisk settlements (small towns situated near the border of Luhansk region of Ukraine and Rostov region of Russia).

“According to operational data of intelligence, forces of terrorists are amassing at the border and are tring to go to the territory of Rostov through “holes” at the border,” the interlocutor of the agency added.

He stressed that so far there is no information about whether they succeeded in crossing the Ukrainain-Russian border. A spokesperson of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR) told to RBK that he has no information about retreat of militants and was going to check this information.

On July 14 overnight security forces managed to destroy to cars with rebels in the area near Zalanopolye village, Luhansk region, the press-service of the special operation in Facebook reports.

“At 11 p.m. – 00.15 p.m. an attempt to break up through a roadblock near Zelenopolye took place. During the fight two vehicles transporting rebels were destroyed. Causalities of terrorists are being updated. There are no losses in Ukrainian troops,” the report reads.

Today night it has been also informed that the Ukrainian army took the airport of Luhansk by force. “Ukrainian President has been just reported from the Headquarters of the Anti-Terrorist Operation that Ukrainian troops their way forward to Luhansk airport. Glory to Ukraine!” the message at the account of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Facebook posted about the midnight informs.
