Tax ministry changes mind on prohibiting short-term renting

The ban on short-term renting in Minsk is not under discussion.

The statement was made by Mikhail Rasolka, a representative of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties, AFN reports.

“The ministry became an initiator of bringing order into rental business. The issue had not been regulated until 2009. But the ministry did not make any proposals to ban this business. Yes, this idea could be heard at a meeting in the Minsk city executive committee, but it is too early to speak about the ban,” Mikhail Rasolka said.

It was reported earlier that flats offered for short-term rent should be moved to the category of non-residential property.
