Belarusians go abroad to celebrate

There are enormous queues of cars at border checkpoints.

A Facebook user Petsya Slizka informs about a line of 176 cars at Katlouka border crossing. It means that the time of waiting in the queue is to be at least 7-8 hours.

The queues at the border crossing Kamenny Loh are reported to be as long.

“There is a queue for 6-7 hours,” Max Rudzenka states on Facebook.

Even at the border crossing Benyakoni there are about 100 vehicles in a queue.

“It had not happened before,” Tatsyana Vojshnis writes. “It’s a pity that some people are trying to drive impudently, driving past those who are standing in the queue honestly. But the customs office works quickly!”

As charter97.org was informed by the Border Committee of Belarus, there were 520 passenger cars in total standing at the border on the road from Belarus to Lithuania at 10 a.m.

July 4 is announced a holiday in Belarus, and the working day has been moved to Saturday, July 12, that is why there are 4 days of the public holiday. Many dwellers of the capital leave the city in order to avoid the mass celebrations and the parade, which block the normal life in central Minsk.
