Pentagon: Donbas region continues to receive Russian heavy weapons

The Unites States says advance weapon systems are still being provided for eastern separatists across the Russian-Ukrainian border.

It is said by BBC Ukraine.

Pentagon's spokesman, Rear Admiral John Kirby, said the military equipment included multiple rocket-launched systems, artillery, tanks and air defence systems.

He raised his concerns about 10,000 Russian troops on the border with Ukraine. According to Kirby, they are positioned closer to the border than they were in spring.

On July 29, the European Union approved a new package of sanctions against Russia over the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

The West accuses Russia of supplying weapons to separatists in eastern Ukraine and involvement in the downing of a Malaysian plane with 298 people on board in the Donetsk region.
