Ukraine’s Ambassador to Belarus in potential stroke condition


Mikhail Yezhel has arrived to Belarus to pack his things, and was reached by a hypertensive crisis there.

liga.net was informed about that by the head of the Military Prosecutor’s office of Ukraine Anatoly Matios.

“Judicial proceedings have been initiated against Mikhail Yezhel on the facts of squandering state funds, allocated for army needs. Now Mikhail Yezhel is Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus. He was present at the interrogation, where he was informed about the suspicion. He was to come to the court within 72 hours for a measure of restraint to be chosen for him. According to the new Code of Criminal Procedure, we had no grounds for his detention. It is law. He went to Belarus to take back his things, and there he had a hypertensive crisis, he has a potential stroke condition. According to information of the Central Military (I would like to emphasize that) Hospital in Minsk of the Defense Ministry of Belarus, Yezhel is in critical condition. After his restoration to health and return to Ukraine ,we are going to do what we should do under the law,” he said.

We remind that the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine has charged a former Defense Minister of Ukraine Mikhail Yezhel. The suspicion was presented in the framework of the criminal proceedings related to the facts of detriment to defensive ability of the army.
