Export of trucks from Belarus falls 2.7fold

The export of trucks from Belarus has fallen 2.7fold to 772 vehicles for the first three months of 2015 compared to 2104 vehicles in January-March last year.

It is said in a report by the National Statistical Committee.

Foreign currency proceeds from the sales of trucks fell by less than half (45.5%) from $225.5m in the first quarter of last year to $122.9m. The average price of a vehicle grew by 48.5% from last year's $107,200 to $159,200. The increase in the average price can be explained with the increased share of exported special vehicles (BelAZ trucks, semi-trailer trucks and dual purpose vehicles) and the decreased share of traditional MAZ trucks.

Russia is the main sales market for Belarusian truck manufacturers. It has bought 470 vehicles for three months this year. Turkmenistan comes second with 161 trucks and Ukraine is the third with 49 vehicles.

Belarus exported 62 trucks outside CIS.

The most expensive vehicles were sold to Mongolia that purchased 3 trucks worth $741,100 each.

The production of trucks has fallen by 49.1% to 1244 vehicles for the first four months of 2015 compared to the same period of last year. The production of dump trucks reduced by 40.5% to 141 vehicles, special off-road trucks – by 54.9% to 604 items.
