Azarenka through to French Open third round

Belarusian number one Victoria Azarenka continues her successful run at the Grand Slam tournament in Paris.

The world number 27 beat Lucie Hradecka of the Czech Republic (World No.61) 6-2, 6-3 to book the third-round meeting with Serena Williams of the United States.

As was informed, the Belarusian needed 80 minutes to beat Maria Teresa Torro Flor of Spain (World No.131) 6-2, 6-1 in the opener.

Top seed Serena Williams survived losing the first set to beat Germany's Anna-Lena Friedsam 5-7 6-3 6-3. In the opener the American did not leave any chances to Czech Andrea Hlavackova in a confident 6-2, 6-3 win.

Victoria Azarenka is making her ninth appearance at the French clay courts. Her best result was the French Open semifinal in 2013 where she lost to Maria Sharapova of Russia. Last year Victoria Azarenka did not play in Paris due to an injury while Maria Sharapova claimed the title.
