Wage debt rises by 45.5% in May

Wages in arrears grew by 45.5% (94 billion Belarusian rubles) in May in comparison to April 2015.

As of June 1, the debt was 300.6 billion rubles, which is 1.6% of the wage fund for April 2015, BelaPAN news agency learnt from the press service of the National Statistical Committee.

Employers haven't paid wages to 56,300 employees in 444 companies, which is 35% more than in April.

Most of the companies owing wages to employees are in the agricultural sector. Industrial enterprises include Brest Plant of Household Chemicals, Luninetsles, Orsha Instrument Plant, KIM factory in Vitsebsk, Vitsebsk Silk Factory, Znamya Industrializatsii Factory (Vitsebsk), Haradok Flax Mill (the Vitebsk region), Minskmebel, Belgran (Minsk), Minsk Automatic Lines Plant, Monolitgrad (Minsk), Maladzechna Metalware Plant (the Minsk region), Strommashina Plant (Mahilou), Fandok (Babruisk), Vesnyanka sewing factory (Mahilou). Mogilevdrev, Climate Control Industry Plant (Mahilou).
