Update Of Minsk Ring Highway Flagging Caused Flurry Of Indignation Among Drivers

In early April, Mikhail Miasnikovich instructed to restore perfect order on the Ring Road and the surrounding areas.

Every citizen of Minsk, having been to the Ring Road in the last month, can pass judgement on the quality of performed work.

For certain, the road builders did not cope with the whole scope of work before the deadline. They didn’t manage until May 1, but up to the 9th they surely will. Probably, the employees of road services decided it that way and sent a truck to update the flagging on the Ring Road. However, the timing was not the best: the road builders’ car, slowly traveling in the left lane in the evening rush hour, created considerable danger.

The process of updating the flagging was recorded on video by an Onliner forum user. As you can see, the truck was driving not more than 30 km / h. The warning about danger was minimal: a shield with the inscription “Warning! Work Is Underway” and signs. There were no warning signs or covering car on the road, the forum user informs. As a result, some drivers were forced to slow down, change lanes at their own risk, and drastically accelerate in the middle lane.

We cannot literally bring dialogue that took place between the driver and road builder. But in terms of decent Russian language the conversation would sound something like this:

– If only no one hit ... there have to be signs.

– Look, where you're moving – directly on fresh paint.

– So what? I’ve almost crashed into you.

– I do not care. I am concerned that you're going right on the strip.

– I have already realized that you do not care. You’d better go from here.
