Tornado Hits Sharkaushchyna

A real tornado hit Vitsebsk region.

Internet users have published photo and video materials of the unusual atmospheric phenomenon over the settlement of Sharkaushchyna, Vitsebsk region.

A real whirlwind flew over the populated area, demolished several buildings, swept off the houses’ roofs and broke the windows.

No casualties have been reported. The liquidation of the consequences is in progress.

According to the information provided by the press-center of the Ministry for Emergency Situations in Vitsebsk region, the tornado damaged the roofs of 20 residential houses in Sharkaushchyna, and 3 farms in the village of Marki. Two traveling-bridges turned upside down at Sharkaushchyna station. 8 populated areas were left without electricity. The gusting wind is reported to have reached 16 meters per second.
