In 2015  Industrial Production Decreased By Almost 7% In Belarus

In Belarus industrial production has decreased by 6.6% compared to the year 2014 and amounted to Br 729 trillion in current prices.

The press service of the National Statistical Committee informed about that, BelaPAN reports.

For 2014, this figure rose by 1.9%. Since the beginning of 2014 until August there was a drop in industrial production, which continued in 2015.

The volume of the fossil fuels sector decreased by 8.4%, mining (except fuel and energy) – by 6.3%. In the food industry the decline was 1.1%, the textile and clothing industry – 14.1%, production of leather, leather products and footwear – 18.5%.

6% drop was recorded in wood processing and manufacture of wood products, 9.9% drop – in production of the steel industry, 2.4% –in the production and distribution of electricity, gas and water. There were produced 12.1% less of rubber and plastic products, machinery and equipment – 25.2% less, transportation means and equipment – 13.7%, electrical and optical equipment – 6.3%, other nonmetallic mineral products – 17.6%.

Cement production declined by 17.5% (4,636,800 tons), chemical fibers – by 3.8% (182,900 tons), dump trucks - by 10.2% (421), freight cars – 56.1% (3.513), tractors – 34.2% (34.300), buses – 45.3% (795), refrigerators and freezers – by 8.2% (898.800), TV sets – by 75.9% (22.200), elevators – by 8.6% (10.055), combine harvesters – 81% (146), electricity – by 2% (33.8 billion kW h).

At the same time, production of the chemical industry has increased by 6.3%, including pharmaceutics – 38.5%. Manufacture of coke, refined petroleum and nuclear materials rose by 0.3%.

There has been produced more motor gasoline – by 0.6% (3,968,500 tons), diesel fuel – by 2.5% (8,158,500 tons), potash (in terms of the active substance ) – 2% (6,467,900 tons), flat glass – by 7.7% (36,813 sq. m.), washing machines – by 34.3% (203.600).
