Mental Health Condition Of The Minsk Shopping Center Attacker To Be Revealed In A Month

Such is the method of this examination, the State Committee of Forensic Examinations says.

The results of a complex forensic psychiatric examination of Uladzislau Kazakevich, the man who

attacked the visitors of the shopping center “New Europe” with a chainsaw and an ax, will not be known earlier than in one month.

This was announced by the Chairman of the State Committee of Forensic Examinations of Belarus Andrei Shved in the program “Nado razobrat'sya” (“Let’s get to the bottom”) on ONT channel, BelTA informs.

“The first examinations have just been scheduled, there will be not less than several dozens of them in total. The investigation has only primary material on the case, we get it and we work on it. As for the complex forensic psychiatric examination, which is currently carried out by our experts, the results will be ready no earlier than in a month – such is the method of this examination,” – Andrei Shved explains.

The 17 year old student Kazakevich attacked the visitors of the Minsk shopping center “Europe” with a chainsaw and an ax on October 8. As a result, one woman died on the spot and two other were injured. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Belarus Ivan Naskevich has taken personal control of the investigation.
