“Belaruskali” Refused To Help Family Of Deceased Worker

Despite the incident that happened yesterday, people continue to work at the facility.

The incident happened at the Salihorsk enterprise in the morning on October 26: a wire rope broke and a hanging stage with 5 workers inside fell from a big height. As a result, one worker died, another one got in intensive care.

“Works at the facility, where a hanging stage fall down yesterday, are going on,” – Vadzim Shumak, the assistant of the General Director of the enterprise, told reporters on Thursday, the website belaruspartisan.org writes.

However, Belaruskali will not provide any help to the families of the deceased and injured, as it is not provided for by the collective agreement.

“The collective agreement applies to our employees. But since they are not our employees, their employer must help them,” – the assistant of the General Director of the enterprise Vadzim Shumak said.

The fallen workers were repairing the roof of the warehouse №6, located on the territory of the ore administration №1. This warehouse was completely destroyed by fire in May, 2016.

According to Salihorsk citizens, familiar with the situation, the victim was only 27 years old.

Despite the tragic incident, the works at the facility, where a hanging stage fell down yesterday, continue.
