The Ministry of Information has got a share of BA Radio, Russian Radio and Cosmos TV.

The Ministry of Information has become a share owner of two radio stations and a cable operator in Belarus. It follows from the “council of ministers” decision № 794 dated September 30, tut.by writes.

The Government has instructed to pass over to the Ministry of Information shares in the authorized capital of three companies, the members of the Belarusian Broadcasting Center republican unitary enterprise.

It is referred to the joint Belarusian-American enterprise BA International (the Ministry of Information’s share is 34%, which corresponds to the equity contribution in the amount of 44.2 thousand dollars); the LLC “Editorship of the Radio Program “Russian Radio” (34% and 367.2 Belarusian rubles); the LLC Cosmos TV Media(29% and 58 rubles).

The fact is that on October 3, 2016, The Belarusian Broadcasting Center became a part of Beltelecom. As a result Beltelecom became a terrestrial TV and radio monopoly broadcaster. At a rough estimate, about half a million people use terrestrial television services in Belarus.
