Russia And Belarus’ Paratroopers Went For “Slavic Brotherhood” In Serbia

In addition to the personnel, three combat vehicles BMD-2 are being deployed near Belgrade.

More than 250 Russian and Belarusian servicemen have gone to Serbia to participate in the exercise “Slavic Brotherhood 2016,” which will take place near Belgrade on 2-15 November, interfax.by reports with reference to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Ministry of Defense.

“Russian and Belarusian paratroopers set out by three Il-76MDs from the Ivanovo-North airfield to the area of the exercises “Slavic Brotherhood 2016.” The Russian military transport aviation aircrafts will deliver more than 250 Russian and Belarusian servicemen to the Batajnica airfield, located 25 kilometers from Belgrade,” – the department informed.

The Defense Ministry specifies that in addition to the personnel three combat vehicles BMD-2, four ATVs, an unmanned combat air vehicle “Tachyon,” a communication and aircraft flight support vehicle based on a GAZ-66, as well as various military technical equipment, are being deployed in Serbia.

The international tactical exercises “Slavic Brotherhood 2016” will be held near Belgrade from 2 to 15 November, Russia, Belarus and Serbia’s armed forces units will take part in them. The first exercises “Slavic Brotherhood” were held at the Raevskiy landfill near Novorossiysk last year. This year’s exercise control lies with the Ministry of Defense of Serbia.
