Paval Sevyarynets: Police Lawlessness Goes Beyond All Limits

Human rights defenders will help the Barbashinski family and will seek to punish those who have committed this crime.

At the regular human rights forum, which will take place in Minsk on December 8, human rights defenders will definitely be consider the "Case of Barbashinski" - the criminal murder of the Slutsk dweller Ihar Barbashinski by police officers and conviction of his brother, the co-chairman of the BCD party Paval Sevyarynets said.

– Recent cases of demonstrative and unpunished use of violence by law enforcement officers go beyond all limits, – Paval Sevyarynets said in an interview with BCD press-service. – People are being killed without trial or investigation, as in the Stalin era. No one was made responsible for it – on the contrary, Ivan Barbashinski, the brother of killed Ihar, was brought into court in chains, like a dog. Of course, we will help the Barbashinski family and we will seek to punish those who have committed this crime.

The Human Rights Forum, having BCD as one of its organizers, will take place in Minsk on Thursday 8 December and will begin at 18.00 in Chernyshevskogo 3.
