Belarusian Army Got Other Set of Russian Tor Missile Systems

The new Tor missile system will be put into service in Barysau.

According to BelaPAN, the 740th air defense missile brigade (Barysau) of the Armed Forces of Belarus with 9K33 Osa in service (NATO reporting name - SA-8 Gecko) will be equipped with Tor missile systems produced in Russia.

The supply of components of the first battery of Tors for the 740th air defense missile brigade is being implemented. Until the end of the year it is planned to put into service a new missile system in Barusau.

It will be recalled that first three batteries of Tor missile systems purchased in Russia arrived in Belarus in 2011-2013. A full-fledged division in Baranavichy is formed on this base.

In December 2011, the former Deputy Defence Minister for armament Major General Ivan Dyrman, stated that according to the image of the Armed Forces of Belarus of 2020 year the Belarusian army should have at least ten batteries of Tor missile systems.
