Miasnikovich: Pole's Card Shouldn't Harm Interests Of Belarus

Myasnikovich called Pole's Card issue a "Sensitive topic" at the meeting with the Speaker of the Polish Senate.

According to BelaPAN, the Chairman of the "Council of Republic" Mikhail Miasnikovich said this at the meeting with the head of the Senate of Poland Stanislav Karchevsky in Minsk on December 5.

Miasnikovich said that the parties "should not shy away from sensitive issues." One of such issues, according to him, is the Pole's Card. "This issue should be thoroughly examined by experts. Such policy stimulates young people, high quality specialists, to immigrate from Belarus to Poland; this shouldn't harm interests of my country," – Miasnikovich said.

He also said that the interaction of the Belarusian and Polish parliaments should contribute to the expansion of contacts of the "national assembly" of Belarus with the parliaments of other EU countries.

One more issue discussed at the meeting – position of Polish representatives in the European Parliament regarding Belarus. "We are sorry that a constructive relationship between the parliaments contrast to the position of members of the European Parliament. I would like to discuss this issue as well," – Miasnikovich said.
