To Survive: Belarusians Sell Currency Reserves

Belarusians have sold $ 1.8 billion more than they have bought over 11 months.

According to the data of the National Bank of Belarus, physical entities continued to act as pure sellers of currency at the foreign exchange market in Belarus in January-November.

Thus, according to the NBB, physical persons have bought $ 5 billion 177.89 million of cash and non-cash currency and have sold $ 6 billion 973.28 million over the last 11 months. Which means that the net sale

of currency by individuals amounted to $ 1 billion 795.39 million in January-November.

In January-November, business entities, residents of Belarus, bought $ 14 billion 479 million of foreign currency in dollar terms, sold – $ 14 billion 525.38 million. Thus, the net sale of foreign currency by business entities amounted to $ 46,380,000 in January-November.
