The former deputy chairman of Baranavichy city executive committee Ihar Stasevich has running the company since the beginning of the month.

According to employees, Ihar Stasevich set to work on February 1.

– On Friday January 29, no one knew about the change of the leadership. There were only rumors that the new management would be appointed. And on Monday, February 1, Ihar Stasevich was officially presented as the director, – one of the factory workers told Intex-press.

We didn’t manage to talk to the new director – he was busy the whole day. The office of the enterprise confirmed the information about Ihar Stasevich’s appointment.

Before this position had been occupied by Mikalai Mitskevich. Now he has been appointed chief engineer of the company.

In 2014, Ihar Stasevich was sentenced to 5.5 years of imprisonment in a penal colony with a reinforced regime and to confiscation of property on charges of bribery and power abuse. Stasevich was accused of taking cakes chebureks, pies, pizza and other products as a bribe from April 2012 to March 2013, being a deputy chairman of the city executive committee. Later, Stasevich was cleared of bribery charges and the sentence was reduced to three years.

By the way, in January 2016, another former official – the former Deputy Prosecutor General of Belarus Aliaksandr Arkhipau was released out of prison, tut.by reports. According to the official, he was released by decision of Lukashenka. Aliaksandr Arkhipau was appointed chairman of the collective farm Piatrovichy.
