Representatives of the civil society offer the EU not to decrease the level of the monitoring of the human rights situation and continue exerting pressure on the official Minsk.

It has been reported by Radio Racyja.

“We have a common stand on this matter, – the chairman of the United Civil Party Anatol Liabedzka said. – Just yesterday we agreed upon the address to the international community: Brussels, Washington, which has been agreed to be signed by the United Civil Party, Statkevich, Milinkevich’s movement, the Belarusian Christian Democrats, Niakliayeu, – 7-8 leaders of the major political structures have documented their position. We feel strongly about the idea to remove sanctions against officials who systematically violated both the Constitution and international obligations, as we approach the “election” campaign.”

The European Union will soon decide on sanctions imposed on the Belarusian officials responsible for violations of human rights and ballot rigging. The EU Council on Foreign Affairs will consider the issue on Belarus on February 15.
