Deputy Director General of OAO Borisovdrev is detained on suspicion of receiving a bribe.

The press-service of UVD of Mingorispolkom informs.

The bureaucrat was detained on March 1 in agricultural town Atolino after receiving a bribe of more than Br24 million from the director of one of DLC.

The police say money was given as reward for favourable result of well-timed transfer of monetary means to DLC for repair and other construction work. It was done within the investment project on modernization and re-equipment of Borisovdrev.

A criminal case, according to UBEP KM UVD Minsk Gorispolkom and OBEP KM Borisov RUVD, was initiated by Minsk ROSK under Article 430, para 1 CC of Belarus (bribery). He can face up to 7 years in prison.

The suspect is detained and can be found in a remand prison.

It should be reminded that modernization of Borisovdrev is accompanied with sensational resignations and criminal cases. Lukashenka criticized leaders of the region and the sphere for failure to modernize the Borisovdrev in the autumn of 2013. Barys Batura, Chairman of Minsk Regional Executive Committee, and Andrei Tur, Deputy Head of President Administration lost their positions. Aliaksandr Peraslautsau, Head of Bellesbumprom, was also dismissed. Andrei Kabiakau, Head of the President Administration, got a "severe reprimand with final warning."

Uladzimir Maltsau, director of Borisobdrev, did not get into hot water then, however, in March of 2014 he was initiated a criminal case against. He was accused of official misconduct while implementation of a government program on modernization of the woodworking enterprise Borisovdrev resulted in grave consequences such as infliction of damage in especially big amount and disruption of modernization. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison, but then the term was reconsidered. Uladzimir Maltsau was at large on July 2, 2015.
