Lukashenka Announced “Deputy” Selection Criteria

One of the main criteria is not to carry out ”obscure radical shock reforms.”

On May 24, Aliaksandr Lukashenka said that at a meeting on preparations for the elections to the “House of Representatives” and the “Council of the Republic”, the Belarusian dictator’s press service reported.

The governor instructed to work out a number of criteria, according to which the state will support candidates, regardless of their political preferences.

“We have to place our bets on such candidates. If they will need support, it is necessary to support them. No matter what political parties they belong to. The main thing for them is to be honest and decent people,” – Lukashenka is convinced.

It is expected that there will be generated about a dozen principles. “No one would dispute that one of the criteria of the future parliament candidate is the question of our state’s independence,” – the dictator said.

Another criterion will be the desire to improve the welfare of people “without obscure radical shock reforms to the detriment of the population", the dictator added and demanded that the “parliamentary campaign” was held in an orderly and calm manner.
