According to the leader of the United Civil Party, the authorities failed to pick “the right” member of a commission out of over fifty people.

Nasha Niva has reported this.

“I also applied for a member of a commission, but they included no one out of 50 or 60 UCP representatives, who filed corresponding applications in Minsk, — Anatol Liabedzka has informed. — I believe it’s an indicator. There has been a lot of talking both inside the country and abroad, about some sort of liberalization. However, formation of elections commissions remains a “litmus paper”, which demonstrates whether there have been any changes or not. And we see, there have been none, everything remains at the same level as ten, twenty years ago.”

Besides, Illia Dabratvor has told that he, his wife and other candidates for members of the elections commissions from the REP independent trade union received phone calls from the officials of Minsk district executive committee – they tried to persuade them not to participate in the “elections”.

It became known that only 3 of the 21 people who had filed applications from the REP trade union, had made it to the commissions. Dabratvor’s wife is not among them – she has been rejected.
