Carriers are protesting against high tariffs of dispatch services.

The trade union of taxi drivers Tsentr suggests Minsk carriers to hold a nationwide day off on July 29, and thus express the protest against unjust, according to members of the association, dispatch service tariffs for transportation.

“It’s only a day off so far – it is not a strike. A strike can be presented to the employer. Today dispatch services are not our employers, they are simply call sellers. The conditions, in which taxi drivers have found themselves today, are not “an order,” it is a complete disgrace that just uses as a smoke screen the word “order,” – union leader Aliaksandr Stakhouski said in his interview to Belsat.

The main taxi drivers’ claim is high dispatch service prices for one order in the amount of 1 redenominated ruble.

“It’s not clear, what is included in this amount. At the same time we cannot put a tariff on the basis of our costs.

Dispatch services today simply give a bad time to taxi drivers, who are deprived of work and thrown into the street,” – Stakhouski says.

According to the taxi drivers union leader, a nationwide strike of taxi drivers is likely to be held in the future.

“There’s the same situation across the country,” – Stakhouski says.
