The dictator demanded that Lithuania should “stop the rigamarole” with regard to the incident at the Astravets NPP.

Lukashenka said this to the journalists during his working visit to Vitsebsk region, BelTA correspondent reports.

"Recently I met with the departing Lithuanian Ambassador, and told him the following: “Let us stop this rigamarole, let us stop pressing each other, you press us and we defend, as for this NPP construction. Let us make it together, I mean (they have electric power deficit today), we will ship electric power to you for acceptable prices. We are taking the people who lost their jobs at the Ignalina NPP (it was closed). We will involve these people into working with us. They will be not strange people to us. I mean, there are many problems, let’s think together how to exploit this NPP, not just stand in front of each other pointing fingers,” – Lukashenka said.

The dictator sharply commented upon Lithuania’s concern about the fall of the reactor vessel at the NPP. “If you are concerned, then find yourself not a politician, but a group of professionals in Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and say that they want to receive information for the whole Lithuania, Latvia and Poland – and we will cooperate with them, as we have no secrets,” – Lukashenka stated.

The dictator made an even more paradoxical statement with regard to the fall of the reactor vessel at the Belarusian NPP. In Lukashenka’s opinion, there is no reactor there whatsoever, so there is nothing to fall, respectively.

“Some wrote to the point, even the Russians (mostly the Russian media) – “the reactor fell at the NPP under construction in Belarus”. Come round: there has been no reactor there yet, there is only a metallic vessel – the barrel 20 cm thick, in which the reactor will be placed, - Lukashenka has said. – They reported the incident to me the same morning it happened. They (the builders) were moving it in the warehouse, training to lift it. They lifted it to my height , the ropes didn’t make it, and this “barrel” landed one edge to the ground from which they lifted it.”
