No Money For Su-35S Fighter Jets In Budget

A discussion over the purchase of a squadron of new fighter jets has unfolded in the “house” on Thursday, September 15.

The Ministry of Finance and the “deputies” failed to agree on the issue, tut.by writes.

As part of the aircraft of the Belarusian Air Force will reach the end of its service life by 2020, it was planned to regularly fund the purchases of new jets, including four Su-35S, from the budget. However, such expenses are not planned in the budget for 2017.

“We have allocated enough funds for purchase of weaponry, we bought combat Yak-130 jet trainers this year, we will purchase other machinery next year. It is possible to use other funds. We will finance the National Defense upon receipt of additional revenues in the budget,” – the Deputy Finance Minister Yury Seliverstau said.

The sums were not revealed – Seliverstau recommend not to force him to disclose a state secret in the presence of journalists, and offered to discuss these issues in narrow format.

Let us remind, Belarus planned to buy military transport helicopters Mi-8 MTV-5 from Russia, and to change the MiG-29 fighters, which have been in service with the Belarusian Air Force for 30 years already, for Su-30. It has not been previously reported about any plans to purchase Su-35S jets.
