In 2017 Authorities Want To Boost Their Revenue Potential By Charging Fines 6

Next year officials plan to collect $ 9 million too much by the means of fines.

The Ministry of Finance has recently published the budget bill for 2017. The website charter97.org has counted up that in 2017 the amount of fines will increase by 14% in Belarus, compared to 2016.

If the law on the national budget for the current year reads, that the revenue from fines amounts to 120 million rubles (for ease of calculations we compare the revenue in denominated rubles), in 2017 the authorities want to fine Belarusians 136 million rubles.

At the same time, the basic unit will only increase by 9% (from 21 to 23 rubles) starting with January 1, 2017. Looks like the officials not only want to make more money by means of fines, but to fine more people, too.
